HackDuke is the nation's premier hackathon for social good. We're passionate about making technology good for the world, and hope you come out of this weekend with the same inspiration!

Eligibility

  • All hacks must be built by accepted, confirmed, and checked-in HackDuke attendees. (This includes registered and checked-in Duke students.)
  • Teams must consist of no more than five members.
  • Hackers must be a current student, or have left school within the past year, and present enrollment identification (i.e. student ID) to a HackDuke organizer if asked.
  • Due to university liability requirements, individuals must be at least 18 years old.

Requirements

Submissions are due on Devpost by Sunday 1:30pm, though feel free to submit early and change it up to the deadline. You must include videos, photos, or screenshots of the working product and a link to the source code (GitHub, etc.) of your project.

The Mastercard prize will be award to the hack with the best data analytics. Projects will be judged along several dimensions: social impact, visual clarity, and technical rigor (volume of data, analysis techniques). The winning team will receive $100 Mastercard gift cards for each teammate (up to 5).

MLH - Best use of MongoDB Atlas

Create a hack using MongoDB Atlas to host a database in the cloud! Automate the provisioning and deployment process with ease, while focusing all your efforts on your hack. Projects built using MongoDB Atlas will be eligible to win an AirCharge Plus per team member.

MLH - Best Use of Twilio

Create a hack using Twilio's powerful communications API. Do things like send SMS messages, phone calls, email, and much more in your project. The team that has the best use of Twilio will win a $50 Amazon gift card per team member.
